I think its been so long for me since my last post, because no single thing of blog significance has actually happened, or that I can think of when I sit down at the computer. Also because I haven't really sat down at a computer for any length of time -outside of SCVNGR- since I've been here.
But here it is.
I'm going to start with today, because a couple things happened today that made me mental note to tell you all about it. And if I don't start talking about today, I may forget.
First, I played solitaire on my iPod on the T this afternoon. I've been trying to win that silly game for a couple weeks, but the iPod version I have doesn't let you do things like undo and the screen is super small. Anyways, I haven't been able to get all the cards on the aces yet. Until today. As I was putting the cards on their respective piles, when it was clear I was going to win, I recalled the days of windows solitaire when you finished the game, all the cards would fall all over the screen in a really satisfying way. Today, when I put that last King on its pile, the screen said "We have a winner." My acheivement didn't even warrant an exclamation point. Really iPod?
And then I found $20. On my walk to Seth's house for the SCVNGR dinner party, I found 2 $20 bills on the sidewalk. Normally this would totally make my day, but these bills were lost from a game of monopoly I think. But it did make me smile.
Also, I came across a familiar area of Boston on my walk to Seth's, a part I didn't think I could find again. A couple summers ago, a bunch of us took our Pontiac overnight in Boston, and I did't know the city at all, so none of what we saw meant anything to me at the time, and therefore did not sink in. Or so I thought. The funny thing is, the image that sparked my memory was the set of metal doors on the bridge over the train. Random.
Another funny thing from today, I got my very own website. Its still under construction, but it is there! And can you believe it, the site is www.amyexplainsitall.com. Yerp. That's right. Anyways, the tech guys were a big help and set it all up for me. They are the best, even if they have the biggest stash of nerf guns out of everyone in the office. Thanks guys. Anyways, my new site will have a sweet blog feature, so I'll be updating there now. So bookmark it!
Finally, i think this actually might be my last night in the place on Glendale. Nick and Matt have been super awesome for letting me crash here, with all my stuff, for the last couple weeks. And its been a location for Davis Square. I'm going to miss that air mattress, though. Maybe I'll just steal it.. mm probably not the best way to show my grattitude for my hosts.
So takeaways from this post. Winning solitaire on the iPod, not satisfying. Finding $20 monopoly bills on the sidewalk, not as awesome as finding real money. Getting a website- real fun. Leaving my amyexplainsitall.blogspot.com- a little bit sad. Friends are awesome, both new and old, especially when they let you live on their air mattress for a month.
Fabulous. amyexplainsitall.com. :)
Thanks for keeping us posted. we miss you
