I don't generally get excited about most sporting events in my life (the exceptions, of course, anytime I'm watching the Cats and if I've participated on any sort of bracket pool) so needles to say, I didn't part much attention to any bowl games this year. This morning when the news was discussing it, however, I thought I might be excited for this evening's game because I remember seeing the first match up between LSU and Alabama this year, and it was a great game. When I began watching at the 3rd quarter, I was shocked. Like I said, I don't care one way or another, I was taken aback at the complete blow out before me. Apparently, this was the first shut out in a bowl game-ever, let alone the championship game! I can't help but feel bad for the Lions, they went all season being the team to beat, only to fall to the #2 team (at their hands none the less) on the final game, for all the marbles. But someone's got to win and someone's got to lose, and 'Bama brought it tonight, while the other team only crossed the 50 yard line about 1 time.
Speaking of getting excited about sports, my office is participating in Rooney's NFL playoff pool, and I'm 3 for the first 4 games. Since I picked mostly the teams I thought as the most unlikely to be on any other pool, I'm pleasantly surprised with my performance so far. We'll see. BTW: is it bad luck to talk about your picks in this setting? I hope not.
