Today is the day! The first day of the next year of your life! Some people started it with strangers in strange cities, some started it a little lost or in a pile of pine needles, and some started with a walk down Madison Ave in her Eve clothes (total stranger, no worries for my friends). For me, I rang in the new year with an awesome collection of some of my closest friends, with a great party, and terrific New Years kiss.
I don't think the condition of your life when the clock strikes 12 has any bearing or other meaning on how the rest of the year will play out, but I'm glad my night was one to remember, and despite a few hiccups with the group, I wouldn't change a thing.
Seeing the state of affairs of NYC on NYE from our position, staying at a hotel less than 8 blocks away, I have only solidified my refusal to celebrate on the street to watch the ball drop....until Tommy has his penthouse overlooking Times Square.
Here's hoping we end 2012 as amazingly as we started, wherever we end up.
